Care Experienced Programmes

Our 5 care experienced programmes engage young people aged 13 – 25 from Manchester, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford. They provide looked after children, care leavers and anyone else who has been in the care system with a variety volunteering and social action activities, and positive life skills training.

Young people are able to ‘dip in and out’ of the activities, which are delivered on 1:1 or small group basis. Young people tell us that they like the flexibility of the programmes and we are always keen to encourage their involvement in the shaping the activities. The emphasis is always on fun and the programmes’ aim to increase confidence, improve life skills and reduce social isolation.

Boom Box

Boom Box is our new 12-month music production project delivered in partnership with Memody CIC, aims to reduce social isolation and increase the confidence and self-esteem of care experienced young people across Greater Manchester. Funded by Youth Music, the project provides opportunities for looked-after children and care-leavers to create their own songs and music videos in a brand new studio, on site at GMYN.
