We are delighted to announce that we are one of only 20 charities selected from across the North of England, the Midlands and Wales to be presented with a Weston Charity Award.
Alex Fairweather, founder and CEO of GMYN, said:
“We are very privileged to be one of only a small number of charities to be awarded from across the country.
“This is great recognition for the hard work we have put in to develop our support programmes for young people over the past year, as well as our future plans to enable many more young people across Greater Manchester develop key life skills.”
Philippa Charles, director of the Garfield Weston Foundation said:
“These local Weston Charity Awards recipients have been selected due to the strength of their ambitions and their demonstrable openness to constructive challenge and external perspectives. Their impact extends far beyond their direct service users.”
The Weston Charity Award gives winners a core grant of £6,500 from the Garfield Weston Foundation and a year of support from national charity Pilotlight.
Alex Fairweather continued: “Working with Pilotlight will be an exciting opportunity and a big challenge to see just how far we can go with GMYN’s journey to create and deliver new innovative programmes that can transform young people’s lives.”
