Hosted at Brockhole on Windermere, the Great North Swim is a fantastic weekend of open water swimming in the stunning Lake District. Join #TeamGMYN and 10,000 other swimmers to raise funds for disadvantaged young people across Greater Manchester!
Team GMYN charity places for the 1 mile open water swim are just £10. All funds raised will go directly towards our work helping care experienced young people to take steps towards employment.
The 1 mile is suitable for swimmers of all abilities and is equivalent to 64 lengths of a standard 25m pool. The average completion time is approximately 40 minutes. It’s up to you whether you adopt a leisurely breaststroke while taking in the scenery or kick into crawl for a faster time!
You can swim on either Friday 7th, Saturday 8th or Sunday 9th June 2019.
As well as the chance to help disadvantaged young people across Greater Manchester, you’ll benefit from:
- a fundraising pack to help you take your challenge to the finish line
- fun tools and tips to help with your fundraising
- training support
- a friendly team here to support you all the way.
GMYN creates positive opportunities for 13 to 25 year olds with experience of care, unemployment, disability or other forms of social isolation. Last year, with fundraising support from the community, this work helped 738 young people take steps towards a positive future.
