Alison has been on the trustee board since 2012 and has been Chair since 2015. Following eleven years as a logistics officer in the Army, Alison has worked predominantly with vulnerable young people in posts within charities or Local Authorities. She is currently the Area Manager for the Royal British Legion. Particular areas of interest include; young offenders, social isolation and the development of life skills for young people.
Sam has 16 years experience working within a social enterprise / third sector / charity environment. His key strengths include the ability to create new partnerships and build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Currently employed as Programme Manager for ABL Health, overseeing a men health & fitness service across Wigan and a specialist weight management service for children and families in St Helens. Sam also leads on volunteering and health and safety
Previously Sam was the Business Development Manager at the Big Life group which included coordination of tenders for new contracts, developing new service models and creating and maintain partnerships with key stakeholder organisations.
Helen has over 15 years' experience working within the criminal justice sector. She has worked as a Probation Officer in various multi agency teams across Greater Manchester and has operationally managed teams and specialist interventions for young adult males.
Helen’s interests and areas of expertise are young adults, partnership working, staff development and using research to inform service delivery, especially in relation to care leavers and care experienced people.
Outside of work Helen loves getting out and about, going to gigs, museums, galleries and more recently has become addicted to gardening!
Stephen began his fundraising career at Marie Curie Cancer Care in 2001. After 5 years working in their community fundraising team he moved to the Red Cross to manage the regional community fundraising team in the North of England. Since then the North has grown to include the Midlands and Stephen also manages the National Events Team in London. He has worked on large corporate partnerships, small ones too. He has worked with committees, trusts, individuals, high net worth individuals, people of influence, and on countless emergency appeals from Haiti Earthquake to the appeal following the attacks in Manchester. He became a GMYN Trustee in 2016.
Outside of fundraising, Stephen is Father to Jack, husband to Clare, and pack leader to his dog, Izzy. He supports Sheffield Wednesday and many other worthwhile causes.
Johnny de Mouilpied
Johnny has over 17 years in leadership, leading teams of up to 500 people across multiple sites. With a diverse career in banking from Private Banking supporting the UKs most influential people to his current role in transforming the way banks support customers who are in financial difficulty. Johnny is currently chair of the British Bankers Association Financial Abuse working party being the number one ambassador for supporting people who are suffering Financial Abuse. Johnny is a customer obsessed leader and key influencer at Executive and Board level known for having an unrivalled passion for the people he leads
Hazel is an award-winning specialist in creative communications and political and social change. She has worked in corporate communications in the private sector, but the majority of her career has been spent leading change for the public and charity sectors. Hazel is co-founder and director of the social enterprise Good Squared, which specialises in helping the public and charity sectors to innovate and to improve wellbeing.

Pamela Welsh has been a trustee for GMYN since 2014 and is chair of the communications and engagement subcommittee. In her day job, she is communications lead at Manchester City Council, having previously been head of comms at Wigan Council and communications manager at a local housing provider in Manchester. She is a former journalist for the Manchester Evening News and is originally from Northern Ireland. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, browsing social media, learning about politics and dancing.
James has 10 years’ experience in business development roles in both the private sector and the VCSE sector. His experience includes business development including working to a business pipeline approach, lead generation, commissioner/funder engagement, marketing/communications, bid-writing, governance/sign-off procedures, contract negotiation, implementation best practice. James also works on partnership development with partners in the VCSE, private and public sectors. He currently spends all his spare time chasing after twin toddlers so is kept very busy outside of work/trustee commitments!
