Carousel Volunteers Create Egg-Cellent Easter Treats

Carousel participants from Oldham College have recently made Easter a little bit more special for children supported by a local refugee charity.

The young people chose the charity as one they would like to help and spent some of their time on Carousel learning about the issues refugees and asylum seekers face. Using support and funding from Carousel, the group then made 10 fantastic Easter gifts for children of people supported by The Welcome Project at Oldham Unity Baptist Church.

Mrs Dawson, a volunteer for the charity fed back to us that “they [the children] were delighted to have such beautifully decorated boxes and when they opened them and saw chocolate and colouring books they were very excited. Oldham Unity is a happy, busy place and we continue to be used by a lot of people. It was great to have something special for the children this Easter.”
